Phew! It’s HOT outside! You know what that means? Summer is officially underway and weekend traveling is at its peak again! We work our way through the week, counting down the hours until that crucial Friday 5:00pm bell when we’re free to enjoy fun in the sun at our lake houses, camps and beachfront properties. That means packing up the trucks and trailers and hitting the road for at least an hour, but probably longer since everyone else has the same idea (Traffic! Yuck!). If you own your own business, is there a way to take advantage of that summer weekend traffic?

There absolutely is! Whatever you buy, sell, produce or offer with your business, whether it is large or small, local or international, you need to advertise One extremely cost effective and powerful method of advertising is utilizing mobile graphics. If you wrap your home vehicle or business vehicle in a vinyl wrap, you’ll be advertising everywhere you go. If you choose not to, what about your motorcycle trailer? People own trailers for all types of items, such as motorcycles, four wheelers, dirt bikes, small boats, horses, other animals, and so on, so if you own a trailer and transport items within it all summer long, why not take advantage of the exterior of that trailer as well?

Picture this: Say you’re transporting horses and you own a local horse farm that offers boarding, horseback riding lessons, grooming and so on. Wouldn’t it be fitting to have beautiful trailer graphics to advertise each of your services for you to attract potential customers? Especially when so many vehicles are on the road each summer weekend, your advertising dollars will be well worth it.

Carpenters often travel to different locations for temporary jobs and therefore, need to transport their tools and equipment. If you’re one of these carpenters and you transport via a trailer, you could advertise your business with trailer graphics. Similarly, even if you trailer is used for recreational purposes, such as carting dirt bikes, you can still advertise for your Pampered Chef business!

Trailer graphics are used all over the world, and the benefits are endless. The cost of wrapping your trailer in trailer graphics is very inexpensive, produces unlimited leads, they look attractive, they leave no damage to your vehicle, you won’t waste countless dollars on advertising time slots or postage stamps, you can choose where, when and how often you advertise, and you can target your audience. Trailer graphics also allow you to wrap a vehicle that you may not mind covering up. A lot of us cherish the vehicles we drive and chose them in part, because we liked the look of them, so some of us may not be interested in covering them up with a full vehicle wrap. Thankfully, we have the option of utilizing many other types of wraps like trailer graphics!

Hello again everyone! I hope that everyone had a fantastic week so far! I know that you’ve received valuable information from the other blogs that we’ve posted but today’s blog is going to help you in another way. Today’s article will be about how to choose that right vehicle wrap service company.

Once you and your marketing team have decided to hire a vehicle graphics company to design, create and install your vehicle wraps, how do you choose the right one? You may think it doesn’t really matter which company you choose. If you want superior performance, no shortcuts, not cheap alternatives, no damage to your vehicle, and flawless graphics, then you need to think about a few things.

1. Does the company have a portfolio?

A. Without a professional portfolio, you have no way of knowing whether or not the company can handle complex, detailed, eye catching vehicle decals for a single vehicle, let alone an entire fleet. (See ours at:

2. Does the company employ in-house experienced graphic designers?

A. Most of us have seen fleet graphics before, and the amount of detail involved in the car wraps and large format printing is impressive. As much as any of us would like to say we’re creative enough to create such detailed designs, it takes a graphic designer to understand the curves and corners of the vehicle, as well as the colors and sizes of the images themselves.

3. Does the company use high quality, wide format printers?

A. Any old printer won’t suffice when you’re trying to print large format graphics and vinyl wraps. Specialized printers, ink, and other materials are necessary. (Read about ours here:

4. Does the company request the exact make and model of your vehicle, as well as photos?

A. Understanding the exact curves, corners, dips and grooves of your vehicle is extremely important to the end result. If a company doesn’t ask for specifics on your vehicle, how can they plan for an extra half inch of vinyl to tuck into a groove? Without enough material, the vinyl would need to be stretched into the groove, which causes pulling and puckering.

5. Does the company understand your target market and campaign?

A. The types of vehicle graphics used vary greatly depending on your specific campaign and target market. Your graphics printing company needs to understand your purpose in order to help you achieve it.

As with any company of any type in this day and age, you will have choices. It is up to you to do the research to choose the best company to suit your needs. Ads On Wheels has all this AND more! We provide free and unlimited design work and offer the best 3M material warranties for your product. If you’re looking for the best choice, then you’ll choose Ads On Wheels.

Don’t you think that your advertisement should reflect you as a person?

What type of person are you? What are some of your favorite pastimes? Do you frequent certain areas or businesses? These are the types of questions YOU should be considering when thinking about your target consumer. As business owners and marketing guru’s, we sometimes think too narrow mindedly and forget to think like a consumer. You could learn a lot about your target audience just by asking yourself questions like “would I be annoyed by that advertisement? Would I toss that mailer right in the trash without thinking twice? Would I read that wall mural if I were in the subway?

There are, of course, many, many ways to market to your target audience, but you always want to be careful that your advertisements aren’t going to be invasive. That’s when you’ll turn your consumers away. If your advertisements are interesting, informative, exciting and eye catching, you’ll see the best results. It’s also important to remember that there are key times and places to reach your target audience.

Picture this: Jack owns a sporting goods shop that sells everything you could ever need for every sport, for kids all the way up to professional adults. Jack’s target audiences are likely to be big sports nuts. Jack’s advertising efforts should be tailored to that. One proven successful method is to use wall murals or wall decals. These murals can be placed in any convenient location, including in cooperating businesses. Sports fans probably frequent sports bars. Find several local sports bars and ask if they’d be willing to sell you a wall for advertising space. Mount a wall mural or wall decal directly in front of patrons as they walk in, or directly behind a TV and you’re bound to draw their attention.

Sports fans also often attend sporting events and we’re all familiar with advertisements inside hockey rinks, baseball fields, etc. The advertising space may be a little pricy, but you’ll be advertising to thousands or hundreds of thousands of sports fans at once. In this situation, since sports fans are used to seeing so many advertisements wrapped all around the rink or field, make sure your wall mural or wall decal stands out from the rest. Make it bright and eye catching, otherwise it could get lost in the mix.

You may not have a local professional sports team close enough to your sporting goods shop for that to be a cost effective advertising method. However, every town has local baseball fields and hockey rinks. While your audience may not even reach a hundred sports fans, they are certainly going to be your local target audience, and advertising space for your wall murals and wall decals will undoubtedly be less expensive.

Wall murals and wall decals have proven to be hugely successful marketing tools, as well as extremely cost effective, so question yourself when you’re deciding on a location.

In house advertising can benefit your business in ways you may not imagine possible. As a small business owner, you may think (and hope) that customers are coming into your business, already knowing the ins and outs of what you do, as in the products you sell, each of the services you offer, when there’s a sale running on your website, etc. However, the odds of them knowing your business like you do are slim to none. They may be visiting your store because they mentioned to a friend that they needed, say, a replacement fuse for their car, and their friend told them to go to your auto parts store. However, they may have no idea that you also sell multi-disc CD players and Bose speakers for vehicles, or that you’re currently offering free installation services on your website. For all you know, they’re in the market for a new stereo system in their Jeep and you just missed that sale by not informing them. Short of asking each customer if they’ve seen your online offer as they enter the store, what else could you do?

Inform and advertise via window decals. Utilize that window space in and around your business, and directly on your door to inform your customers of your latest deal, newest product, most popular service, and most overlooked service, etc. If the deal is good and the product or service is commonly needed/desired, you may be pleasantly surprised with the increased sales.

Car dealerships may be one of the most relevant business types for window decal advertisements. Increase the hype for the new incoming flashy vehicle with huge, high definition window decals showing one of those enticing pictures of the car flying down a blurry, winding road with incredible grip and precision.

Window decals aren’t just for car dealerships. If you own a book store and Harry Potter’s book 7 is coming out in a few weeks, by all means, have a window decal created to notify passers by that you’re reserving copies now. The wonderful thing about window decals is that not only, do they inform and advertise to your current customers, but they can also catch the eye of passers by to pull in new business.

If you own a local salon and spa and you’re about to start offering hot stone massages, notify every one of your current customers by placing a window decal on your front door with bright, comforting image of a woman getting a hot stone massage, looking completely relaxed and pampered, with the words “schedule yours today!” written below.

Any business can benefit from window decals, as long as they’re well thought out and kept fresh! If you advertise a new service, yet leave the window decal up for over a year, the service is no longer new and you’re wasting valuable window space where you could be notifying customers of sales and new mineral makeup products. Keeping your window decals fresh and intriguing will continue to benefit your business and your wallet.

Happy Fathers Day Everyone! Remember growing up how your Dad always gave you the best advice anyone could ever give? Well, here is some great advice that we know you and your good ol’ dad will love!
Vehicle Wraps and Graphics are one of the most powerful techniques of advertising if done properly. Every company is now trying vehicle wrap and graphics to gain exceptional publicity for their brands. With graphic illustration on vehicles on road, the potential of brand awareness is huge. A single vehicle can make your brand known to hundreds of people at one time. The look of the car you use for car advertising gives the first impression of your company.
Here are reasons for which you should choose car advertising for your company:
Marketing Strategy
It is important to keep everyone as your target to enjoy publicity on a broader scale. You need to use attractive and captivating vehicle graphics to catch the attention of passersby. If you are selling a product targeting a particular age group then graphic illustration must be created accordingly to suit the taste and liking of your potential audience.
Having and Giving Enough Information
You vehicle wrap must contain enough information so that interested customers can reach your physical address or contact you through it. But remember, excess of everything is bad. Put enough information on the vehicle graphics that can be read easily on a moving vehicle. Keep the font size big enough so that even people from far can read it easily.
Use an Attractive Design
A captivating design is a priority, if the vehicle wrap on your vehicle is not catchy then most likely it will be ignored by your customers. A graphic illustration that uses right bend of color, pictures and content can make a bold statement. The message on the vehicle wrap can make or break your fan following. Therefore it should be chosen and placed carefully.
Remember: A Vehicle Graphic is an Investment
Vehicle graphic is a kind of investment that will definitely bring success and increase the number of sales of your business. The installation and selection of vehicle graphics are the biggest expense, so choose them wisely. The vehicles on which your vehicle wraps would be placed will not only do brand awareness when moving but while standing as well. The vehicle graphics will stay as it is for years, so invest liberally.
Vehicle graphics educates your audience; a humorous, striking and captivating graphic illustration can leave people talking about your brand. An innovative approach will spread the word and get your company the kind of publicity it desires. Your car advertising graphics should be designed smartly to give people a reason to choose your brand over others.
Whether you are opening a new business or want to promote the existing one, it is recommended to use car advertising to increase its fan following and consumer base. Do not forget to choose the best company for this work, as novice can’t match the quality provided by the professionals.

Here’s a good question for everyone: Do Politics and Car Decals Mix?

Of course the answer is yes! With election time in a few short months, this has been proven more than ever. Vehicle graphics and car decals can be used by any type of business for any type of advertising, and the possibilities are endless. One benefit to using vehicle wraps is that they can be temporary, and they won’t do damage to your car once you remove them. You can use them for weekend advertising projects or campaigns, or for several years. Car decals are so inexpensive, compared to other advertising methods that short term projects can easily fit within your budget. Many of us might not consider using car decals for political reasons but what better way to attract attention for a candidate, or even to fundraise for a candidate?

Are you running for office? If you are, then you know advertising and reaching out to your voting audience is the most important piece of your campaign. Without advertising and reaching out, you can’t fundraise, and without finances, your campaign can’t go anywhere. Not only that, but your voters need to know your name, your party, your opinions and what you will fight for once in office.

Politicians typically utilize signs and bumper stickers with their names only. Clearly this simple advertising method has been proven to be very effective throughout history, so try designing vehicle graphics with just your name. A full vehicle sized advertisement will make a much bigger impact than a small bumper sticker.

Other obvious things to include on your car decals would be your website, campaign office phone number and email address. Your vehicle wrap will be noticed, wherever you go, so you want to make sure your viewers know how to contact you and how to learn more about your campaign as soon as they look at your vehicle. Pertinent information is necessary, but don’t stop there!

You could also include some of your key opinions and promises. When potential voters visit your website or call your campaign office, they immediately want to know what you believe in, what you want to fight for or against and how you will vote if they help to put you in office. Save them the trouble of calling your office or visiting your website, and list some of that key information right on your car decal.

Another part of a political campaign is socializing with voters and gaining their trust and friendship so they feel confident that you will vote honestly and that you will uphold your promises. Part of building that relationship could involve sharing pieces of your personal life with voters. You could do so by including photos of yourself and your family on your vacation in Disney on your vehicle graphics.

The beauty of utilizing vehicle graphics as an advertising method in your political campaign is that they are far more affordable than most other types of advertising. So much so that you could afford to wrap your own vehicle, as well as everybody else who is involved in your campaign! More attention = More voters!

Welcome Back!
Have you ever wondered what mobile billboards are? What they look like? How they work? And most importantly, how they can make YOU money? Even if you’re not sure of the answers to ALL of those questions, I guarantee you’ve seen them. Mobile Billboards are trailer wraps, car graphics or fleet graphics that advertise for your company. You’ve seen 18-wheelers driving past you on the highway with Coca Cola graphics on the side, and you’ve seen crazy looking cars going through downtown with a full car graphic, advertising for a local radio station.
Those are all versions of mobile billboards! Mobile Billboards are also noticeable and effective on the highway, but even more so in town. This turns cruising around town or running errands into an advertising campaign. In just one afternoon, hundreds of people in their cars, on the sidewalk, in parking lots, and looking out their windows will see your car graphics. It’s impossible to spot car graphics and not take note of what the graphics are advertising.
The best part is, mobile billboards also come in the form of an actual billboard being driven down the road. Billboards that are placed in high traffic areas are a great way to advertise for your company, but what would be even better is driving a mobile billboard to select locations to target a specific audience. If you market your products to large businesses, then drive your mobile billboard through the business district! With mobile billboards, you also have the option of choosing select stopping locations where brochures, literature or product samples can be distributed. You can even house your billboard in a secured garage for future use!
Mobile billboards are still rare enough that they catch immediate attention when seen on the road. Other forms of advertising are too overdone and saturated, such as television commercials, radio ads and mailers, that people don’t even take notice anymore. The best attention grabbing ads are those which are unexpected and intriguing.

Why not check out a few of our examples:

One traditional but clever marketing tool is to ask a question. If the question intrigues your audience, you’ve successfully grabbed their attention. If your Mobile Billboard Ad doesnt provide them with the answer, you’ve left them with a cliffhanger. We’re all familiar with the annoying, suspenseful feeling we’re left with after the season finale of our favorite TV show ends with a cliffhanger, so utilize that in your marketing campaign!
A car dealership’s mobile billboard could ask “Did you get the best deal?” When shopping for vehicles, we all know how easy it is to get “ripped off,” and many of us spend months researching vehicles, consumer reports, carfax reports, and so on before investing in a vehicle to make sure we get the best car for the best possible deal, and therefore, drive off with no regrets. However, many of us don’t take as much time to research the vehicle of our choice as much as we’d like to, or we wonder if we negotiated the best possible price. There’s nothing worse than learning you were ‘ripped off,’ so presenting your target audience with that haunting question will absolutely get their attention!
Think like your target consumer, but think outside of the box and ask marketing questions that will force your audience to visit your website for the answer.

Hello again everyone! I wanted to talk about a different kind of advertising this week that works well for all types of businesses: Word of mouth.

This week I had the absolute pleaser of working with a woman named Sherry. She, like many before her, wanted to find that special way of advertising that would put her above her competition. Sherry called us from Canada looking to get her car wrapped.. but not just any car… Sherry recently purchased an ambulance! What better way to advertise than with a head turning car with a head turning ad!

In Canada, Sherry sells outdoor equipment such as kayaks and snow shoes. She’s proud to say that: Yes, it’s true. All of our canoes & kayaks are made at a factory which is located on the edge of the Bay of Quinte, near Picton, Ontario. We test paddle our boats right in front of our shop. Canada Made!

That’s very impressive! Why not take such a wonderful company attribute and advertise it!  What’s even more impressive is how many people have already seen her wrapped ambulance! Her Facebook already has comments on it from people (and potential future customers!) saying they “love the new wheels!”

Not only that, but in 24 hours of posting Sherry’s wrapped ambulance, Ads on Wheels gained over 200 Facebook friends! Why is that awesome? Well, Mostly because one of the most impressive forms of advertising is the kind money can not buy, and it’s called “word of mouth”  It simply means your product or service impressed a customer so much they told their friends about your company, which almost always results in increased business.  And this works both ways. For example: If Sherry is driving around in her wrapped ambulance, she’s going to get some attention. People will then ask her where the can get an awesome wrap like hers. She will direct them to us and we will wrap that new customer’s car. Now while that is happening, We will post Sherry’s sharp-looking new wrap on our website, Facebook and our blog. This will repay the favor for Sherry directing a friend to us because now she has a spot on our website, Facebook and Blog where she is indirectly advertising her company!

As you can see by that example, “word of mouth” advertising doesn’t always have to be a slow way to build your business. It can be a rapid response too! While it’s important to get good reviews from your customers, most companies also need some form of broadcast advertising to boost sales and get the attention of their target audience. TV and radio ads have their place in the marketing world, but they are expensive and have a tiny shelf life.  However, Vehicle wraps are affordable, captivating, and last about 8-9 years.

So, thanks to Sherry, we demonstrated how word of mouth can be beneficial, not only for us, but for the client as well.  Sherry, you were a pleasure to work with and I hope that you enjoy your wrap as much as we enjoyed working with you!

Vehicle Wrap by Ads on wheels

Hello again everyone!

In honor of Armed Forces Day and Memorial Day this month, this weeks blog will be focused around Military wraps and graphics.

A little history on Armed Forces Day: The day was created in 1949 to honor Americans serving in the five U.S. military branches (The Army, The Navy, The Marines, The Air Force, and The Coast Guard) following the consolidation of the military services in the Department of Defense. It was intended to replace the separate Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, and Coast Guard Days, but the separate days are still observed, especially within the respective services.

The first Armed Forces Day was celebrated by parades, open houses, receptions and air shows. In 1962, President Kennedy established Armed Forces Day as an official holiday. The United States’ longest running city-sponsored Armed Forces Day Parade is held in Bremerton, Washington.

In 2009, Bremerton celebrated the 61st Armed Forces Day Parade.

Now that you’ve gained some knowledge on this special holiday, why not take a look at some of the military style wraps that we’ve done over the years.

The military gets their vehicles wrapped for many different reasons: To relay a message, support a cause, or even sometimes just for the uniform look of a fleet of matching vehicles. Almost everyday we get inquiries for military wraps and we’ve found a couple things that these requests have in common. First is vehicle type. Both trailers and hummers seem to be the most common military wrapped vehicles. That is probably due to the size as well as the durability of the two choices. As shown above, Military wraps are just as successful at being attention grabbers but with one extra purpose in mind: recruiting. Not only are these wraps done on vehicles that the military already owns for positive advertising and publicity, but also to grab peoples attention and to get them interested in serving their country.

Another thing these requests have in common is coverage. Almost never do we get requests for anything less than a full wrap. These military wraps are 100% vinyl masterpieces. Because the customer always is looking forward to a full wrap, color and design gets to be more interesting and complex. Again, looking above at the designs on both the Hummer H1 and the Trailers, you can see that both vehicles make a huge and clear statement.

Now, unlike the photos above, other wraps that are popular with the military (and some hunters as well!!) are the camo wraps. This real-world camo design also uniforms a fleet very nicely while still having a very practical use.

Ads On Wheels has the distinct benefit of being a CCR registered business. This status allows us to offer services as a government contractor. We have coordinated and produced several government contract graphics and printing projects including Air National Guard, Border Patrol, Army ROTC, Marines, and several others. We have worked with several branches of federal, state, and local government entities. The fact that we are a registered government contractor allows us to fulfill projects that are important to all facets of our government.

Vehicle Wraps: In the movies!

Are you still not convinced that getting a vehicle wrap or vehicle graphics won’t grab attention to your company/business? Well, let me remind you for a second that there are some famous vehicles that certainly wouldn’t be the same without a vehicle wrap! Let’s jump back in time to a few classic favorites so I can show you what I mean!

Herbie: 1963 Volkswagen Beetle

Where it’s from: The Love Bug (and other motion pictures)

Claim to Fame: Who doesn’t love a curvy race car? No, we aren’t talking about a NASCAR, we mean Herbie! Herbie is a white Volkswagen Classic Beetle most commonly identified by a large number 53 on the two sides, hood and back. Also running from the back to the front of the car is two red and blue racing stripes with a white stripe in the middle. Capable of driving itself as well as feeling human emotions, Herbie was a zippy little Beetle with a 356 engine who gave the big boys a run for their money!

Think todays generation wont remember a movie from the 1960s? Well, Disney actually re-made the film in 2005, giving a whole new audience the chance to love this little bug.

General Lee: 1969 Dodge Charger

Where it’s from: Duke’s of Hazard

Claim to Fame: The General Lee was the Duke boys’ modified 1969 Dodge Charger and a Hazard County favorite. With a confederate flag painted on the roof and an all orange painted body, this car was sure to get some looks as it “flew” across your tv screen. Bo and Luke Duke were avid race car fans so what also makes the General Lee so easy to spot is the that the Charger’s doors that were welded shut and had a large “01” painted on each side. Like Herbie, if you think that this vehicle got lost with the times, think again. A movie of the Duke’s boys adventures in the iconic General Lee was made in 2005.

Mystery Machine: 1972 Bedford CF

Where It’s From: Scooby-Doo

Claim to Fame: We wouldn’t know about this colorful van if it weren’t for those medaling kids! The Mystery Machine is the transportation used to escort Scooby Doo and the gang to mysteries to solve and criminals to catch! The Mystery Machine is the only van on the planet that can give honest competition to the Partridge family’s tour bus in the “Most Psychedelic Van” category! We constantly get inquiries to wrap this van for magicians, clowns and other birthday entertainers. Not a bad gig, huh?

With these vehicles to spark your memory, you can now see why wrapping a vehicle definitely has its impacts on all sorts of audiences. There are even more vehicles that we didn’t mention in this article! The A-Team? The Partridge Family Bus? What are some of your favorites? Any honorable mentions? Leave us some comments! Do you have a vehicle that you think is worthy of being in Hollywood? Let us know!
